Report From The Sunshine Chairman
By Mark Potter

Buzz Brown’s wife, Arletta, had all her test redone in Iowa City at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics on Tuesday, January 17,  to get some new stats. This will be done in the afternoon. Earlier that day, in the morning, Arletta had her cataracts removed at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was in and out in after a ten minute surgery .The doctor says this will be a 10min. surgery. What they can do now days…

Dean Kruse's wife, Mary, had throat  surgery on November 25, 2005. is doing much better now. She had a lump removed that was inside her throat on the right side. The doctor removed the entire lump by going down the inside of her throat, not cutting thru her neck.

The day of surgery they were in a holding pattern for 3 hours before they came and got Mary. Her surgery lasted for two hours. The doctors said it went well for Mary.

After her surgery she could only drink juices and eat apple sauce. Her neck was very sore. After a few days of eating liquids she fixed herself some rice. It hurt a lot swallowing but it was good.

Bob Nance’s wife, Verna, is doing so well that she’s walking one and a half times around Lindale Mall on her own. Bob can you keep up with Verna now?

Editor's note: Mark Potter submitted a column for the January issue of the Hawkseye, but the editor somehow misplaced the file on his computer. When I went to look for it, it was gone. My sincerest apologies to Mark, he does a great job keeping the chapter informed. Keep up the good work Mark!
