Gospel Concert 2006
by Wendell Aldrich

The 2006 Gospel Concert is considered one of our best concerts, and exceeded our 2005 concert in entertainment value, attendance and contribution to the B&G Club. Attendance at our matinee was about 330 and our evening performance about 300, for a total of 630, about 80 more than the previous year. The weather this year was perfect. We need to address PR for improving attendance which was lower than expected. We also need to review concert expenses which are higher than we’d like.

The Committee will be considering a Mission statement that will help us focus on our purpose. A suggested mission statement is:

Provide a quality gospel performance as an opportunity for the Chorus to perform and promote our chapter and to raise money for a local charity.

There were no bank clubs present and only one Care Facility attended as a group. Bank clubs and Care Facilities were sent email information including flyers twice. The only other promotion was a mailing of 2671 fliers at a cost of about $1000, and fliers handed out by members.

Offering total was $3115 ($1430 mat. & $1685 evening) and expenses totaled $1713, leaving a net income for the Boys & Girls Club was $1402.

Expenses include:

$578 for 3000 mailers, 2671 mailed and 329 flyers for chorus distribution (200 left over
$438 for postage
$127 for 1000 programs (used about half)
$240 for NCBC facilities
$150 for sound gratuity
$180 for lighting gratuity
$1713 Total expenses

Thank you to the Harmony Hawks chorus for singing, to Profound Sound and New Day for their performances, to Rob Hanson for playing the prelude, to Bob Kerdus for building and printing the programs and being our Masters for Ceremony, to Mike Couser for performing and coordinating the offering, to Mary Aldrich for coordinating some of the wives for ushering, to Kevin Tyrell for taking orders at our literature table and making a recording CD, to Buzz and his helpers for counting the money, and to the Gospel Concert Committee who are:
