A WONDERFUL SHOW, AND I MISSED IT.
DRAT! By Allan Harms, Chapter
President
I was really disappointed that I could not be with
the chorus for our 2006 show, we were attending a wedding in
England. Sometimes things happen and this was one of them. The
wedding was delightful, we had a splendid time in England, visited
Stonehenge, Oxford (where my daughter-in-law was educated),
Greenwich and London. We also visited museums, inspected vintage
sailing ships, ate bangers and mash, but avoided mushy peas and
Marmite (I know better) and just enjoyed the English
countryside.
Looking back at our show preparations, I always
enjoy the hard work that leads up to our shows. I didn’t miss out
completely, but it’s incomplete when you don’t actually get to hang
around Theatre Cedar Rapids, hang drops, haul stuff, practice,
practice, practice, get all dressed up, smile out into the audience,
and PERFORM! The best part is topping it off by sharing the
Afterglow experience with your good friends. At least I have a DVD
to watch and revel in how entertaining the chorus was. There will be
next year and I’m eager to see us get started with 2007
planning.
