Harms on Indy
continued...
Continuing with things to look forward
to, we will eagerly await the college quartet contest to watch these
young guys take their best shot and at the same time, develop a love
of our musical style. Then there will be a Gold Medalist Hour during
which a few hundred barbershoppers and spouses will cram into a too
small room to hear what the previous year's Gold Medalist Quartet
has to say, and sing.
Of course, the highlight of the week for
me is the chorus contest. The great choruses show you why they are
great.
Indy is only a week or so away (by the
time I expect you'll be reading this) and once again we'll be having
a great time sharing a good time with a few thousand of our best
friends.
Hawkseye Swami Gives
His Indy Predictions By
David Haase

Last year at this time I gave my
predictions for the Top 5 in both the quartet and chorus contest. I
came very close in the chorus contest, but was off on a few of my
picks in the quartet contest. I didn't think Realtime would
win it, but they did.
As I gaze into my crystal ball I see the
Vocal Majority winning their 11th gold medal (sorry Buzz).
However, it should be a very tight race for second through
fifth.

The Northern Lights, New Tradition,
The Alliance, and the Westminster Chorus should all go home with
medals.
This is how I see it:
| 1st Place |
The Vocal Majority |
| 2nd Place |
Toronto Northern Lights |
| 3rd Place |
The New Tradition |
| 4th Place |
The Alliance |
| 5th Place |
The Westminster
Chorus |
In the quartet contest I see three
Central States District quartets making the quartet finals: Vocal
Spectrum, 12th Street Rag, and 3 Men and a Melody. Unfortunately
not all three quartets will not be wearing medals at the weeks end.
This contest should be very entertaining with a dogfight between
Max Q, Metropolis, and Vocal Spectrum. Any one of these three
could go home with a gold medal. I am sticking my neck out and
picking Vocal Spectrum as our new quartet champions.
This is how I see it:
| 1st Place |
Vocal Spectrum |
| 2nd Place |
Max Q |
| 3rd Place |
Metropolis |
| 4th Place |
OC Times |
| 5th Place |
