Thanks for the Team Effort
By David Haase, Former Hawkseye Editor

Because I ran out of space in my last edition of The Hawkseye, I didn’t get to thank everyone who contributed articles over the last two years. It takes a team to put together a newsletter for the chapter. While I may have won an international level award by PROBE for the best online newsletter, the real credit for the award goes to you, the chapter members. Without content you have no news and without news you have no newsletter. The success of the chapter newsletter depends on you contributing articles. The last thing an editor wants to do is to write every single article.

So at this time I want to recognize the people who contributed articles or photos over the past two years, our Hawkseye Heroes: Wendell Aldrich, Richard Anderson, Larry Aspleaf, Dean and Nancy Beckman, Hank Biere, John Brockschink, Buzz Brown, Mike Couser, Bill Cubbage, Gary DeVries, John Donehower (Dubuque chapter), Toban Dvoretzky (AHSOW), Jim Erbe, Bob Ferguson (photos from Salt Lake City), Leland Freie, Don Fuson (CSD Executive VP and photo contributor), Amos Glanz (Davenport chapter), Allan Harms, Tom Harrington, John Hayden, Ed Hinkley (from the Harmonet), The Jurassic Larks, Bob Kerdus, Jerry Kilgore, J. W. Kissling, Dean Kruse, David Lasley, Bob Lindley (The Vikings), Gary Lindsay, Dr. Greg Lyne, Larry Miers, Paul R. Montague (University of Iowa photographer),  Jayne Morden, Glenn Nellist, Dick Ormond, Gary and Vicki Owens, Monica Perales (CSD photographer), Brian Philbin, Mark Potter, J. Mark Roberts (Muscatine chapter), Ryan Schlader, Sean Smith (the younger one), Robert Uy (Des Moines chapter editor), Dave Wagner (PROBE photographer), and John Whitehead. If I have mistakenly missed someone, I thank you too.  I now pass the job on to Richard Anderson. Please give Richard the same effort and support you gave me. Thank you for your friendship and the many memories.

Welcome fellow barbershoppers to my first edition of The Hawkseye. I can honestly say I will attempt to do my best to put out an outstanding newsletter for the chorus. In my opinion Dave Haase, our previous editor, put out a 100% "right-on" bulletin for us. By the way, congratulations, Dave for getting the job as editor for the Serenade. In the upcoming months I am going to be working with Ryan Schlader, our webmaster, in the development and enhancement of the website. As a matter of fact, you should be able see some changes already in place. We are currently moving the website and newsletter over to the new server as the old one is getting ready to expire (for the non-techies out there, server means house). Good luck to all us at out upcoming contest in Wichita. Let’s keep those chords ringing
