The Harmony Hawks present “Make America Sing Again,” a playful poke at contemporary politics, featuring the Harmony Hawks Chorus and our chapter quartets. One show only, 3 p.m. April 28 a the Concert Hall at Prairie High School, 401 76th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids. Two guest quartets highlight this show, and both are district champions. BoomTown from eastern Kansas won the gold medal in 2014, and Cedar Rapids’ own SwitchBack won it in 2015. Also joining us on stage will be Prairie Middle’s A Few Good Men. One show only, 3 p.m. Sat. April 28 at the Concert Hall at Prairie High School, 401 76th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids. Tickets are $5 for students high school age and under, and $20 for adults. The chorus and our ensembles will perform several times this month. Thursday, Dec. 14 the chorus will perform in Van Horne as part of the Benton Community Christmas Show. The next day our ensemble, Aged 2 Perfection will sing at the New Citizens Ceremony 1:30 p.m. at the Federal Courthouse in Cedar Rapids, and on Thursday Dec. 21, we will be caroling at various locations in the area.
Members of the Harmony Hawks, led by Tom Read, sing carols adding smiles to the aisles of a local HyVee in 2016. Each year the chorus sings at various sites in the community including malls, retirement homes and hospitals.

Four area choruses will combine forces to present this special event. The Harmony Hawks, Old Capitol Chorus, Metro Mix and Cedar Sounds will perform separately for a set and then and as a combined chorus. A free-will offering will be taken to benefit Johnson County HACAP and Linn County HACAP. Doug Wagner from WMT radio will emcee is this first of what we hope to be an annual event.

The Harmony Hawks Chorus presents our annual Best of Cedar Rapids, Gospel Concert 7 p.m. Friday, November 11, at the New Covenant Bible Church, 3090 N Center Point Rd, Cedar Rapids. This annual fall tradition brings together many outstanding vocal and instrumental groups and soloists from the Cedar Rapids area preforming a variety of Gospel and religious music.The Harmony Hawks Chorus will anchor the show preforming our Gospel and patriotic songs.

Thursday, June 23 will be a special night dedicated to inviting men of all ages to experience the excitement and fun of four-part men’s harmony. Whether you get a specific invitation from one of our current members, or just decide on your own that you’d like to see what Barbershop Harmony is all about, you’ll feel welcome! We’ll show you what happens in a rehearsal, learn a tag to sing in a small group, and see a demonstration of how we learn our music. If transportation is an issue, we’ll pick you up!
